The POWER of a CAREER! Northpointe Bank is seeking a detail oriented, customer service minded individual to join our team as an Escrow Specialist in the Grand Rapids Office. This position is responsible for day to day processing, monitoring and payment of all tax contracts and insurance declarations. Position is also responsible for providing general customer service based on maintenance of loans.

• Processing payments of all applicable tax and insurance bills in a timely manner.
• Weekly monitoring of the tax and insurance next due list.
• Monitoring the delinquent tax report issued by the tax service provider.
• Track pending refunds with the tax service provider.
• Processing and monitoring of all insurance loss drafts
• Research and resolve customer inquiries and disputes regarding escrow analysis, taxes and insurance, payments, and general customer concerns in person, on the telephone, and in writing for all loan products in a timely manner, usually within 24 hours.
• Understand loan transaction history inquiry, including escrow disbursements.
• Verify and perform escrow setup and maintenance, escrow tracking and verification, disbursement, and escrow analysis reporting and tracking including the ability to perform a manual escrow analysis.
• Review, evaluate and process requests to eliminate escrow accounts including knowledge of investor guidelines on requirement requirements.
• Print checks for authorized check requests, escrow refunds, and tax/insurance disbursements.
• Maintain relationships with third party vendors to ensure accuracy of tax and insurance data.
• Consistent monitoring of loans with flood insurance.
• Process Force Placed Insurance (F/PI) invoices and ensure timely vendor payments. Communicate regularly with F/P vendors.
• Demonstrate the ability to problem solve to ensure customer satisfaction with both internal and external customers.
• Demonstrate the ability to identify and understand closing documents to assist customers with inquiries.
• Meet established standards and guidelines with regard to compliance, job knowledge, quality, attendance, efficiency, initiative, customer service, and overall performance.
• Maintain customer confidence by providing ongoing quality service and keeping all files and information confidential.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge and compliance with internal policies and procedures. Understand and ensure compliance with laws, rules, and regulations affecting our institution.

• High school diploma or equivalent with strong math skills.
• At least one year experience working with tax disbursements and escrow accounts.
• Experience working with regulatory guidelines preferred (i.e., FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, HUD, State, Local).
• At least one year of customer service/clerical/data entry experience preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of various mortgage loan types and mortgage servicing procedures. Good understanding of RESPA.
• Proficient computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, any other mortgage/banking/servicing software, etc.).
• Professional demeanor and interaction with all customers.
• Effective interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment as well as independently.
• Ability to pay attention to detail while handling a high volume of work with multiple interruptions.
• Effective project management skills and the ability to proactively problem solve.
• Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
